Abstract

The centenary of Lenin’s death is a major event of great symbolic and commemorative significance in the history of left-wing social movements and the political and cultural history in the world. The international community, represented by Communist Parties, Workers’ Parties, left-wing organizations, and progressive scholars, has seized this opportunity to appraise Lenin’s historical status and the world historical significance of Leninism through various forms of commemorative activities, such as writing thematic theoretical articles, issuing manifestos and statements, holding seminars, publishing the results of his writings, holding theatrical performances, and expounding in depth upon the relevance and applicability of the theory of imperialism and ideology from the treasure house of Leninist thought. They seek to explore in depth the value of Lenin’s political and theoretical heritage in examining the changes that have taken place of contemporary capitalism and in building socialism in the 21st century. Starting from the essence of Leninism, they think actively about the Leninism as a guide for struggle and a reference for action in promoting the revitalization of socialism in the world and the development of left-wing progressive forces.
