The Community Consciousness of the Chinese Nation A Dialectical Unity of Governing “Many” by “One”
##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
China’s ethnic relations have entered a new era. Facing once-in-a-century qualitative changes, it has become the fundamental principle of ethnic work and ethnic research to consolidate the community consciousness of the Chinese nation as the mainline. Solidarity and co-existence economically, mutual embedding culturally, and the construction of a ‘single unity with multiple cells’ community of shared future will enhance the identification of all ethnic groups with the community consciousness of the Chinese nation, while respect for and adeptness in making good use of diversity will also help consolidate the community consciousness of the Chinese nation. There is a complex relationship between “One” and “Many”, which needs to be handled dialectically. In governing “Many” by “One”, embracing “One” by “Many”, nourishing the branches and leaves with the trunk, and enriching the trunk with the branches and leaves, we will continuously promote the forging of a community consciousness of the Chinese nation.
