The Essential Distinctions in Labor Relations Between China and the USA: A Comparison of the Role of the Ruling Political Parties

Abstract
Labor relations constitute a crucial element of any society, and their nature serves as a direct reflection of the essence and purpose of the ruling political party. Unlike developed Western countries, the most distinctive feature of labor relations in China is the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Political parties of diverse natures represent the interests of different classes. This becomes apparent in the realm of labor relations through varying stances and values concerning capital and labor, which subsequently influence institutional frameworks and arrangements. From a theoretical perspective, the core values of a political party directly shape the essential framework of labor relations theory. Throughout history, labor relations have experienced numerous transformations under the guidance of political parties. In practice, the current state of labor relations represents a natural continuation of this historical process. Labor relations stand as a crucial barometer for gauging whether a political party prioritizes the welfare of the people or aligns with capitalist interests. This dichotomy is illustrated by two divergent outcomes: one is the pursuit of common prosperity for all people, and the other is a trend towards the polarization of wealth. The fundamental principles of the Communist Party of China, coupled with governmental involvement and the progressive development and outcomes of labor relations, are fostering a harmonious labor relationship characterized by extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefit, which is a process that transcends the limitations of capitalist labor relations.
